Welcome to Croswell Free Methodist Church! Here are some answers to questions you might have as you get started.

What time are the Sunday services?

Our Sunday service starts at 10:00 AM.

What is worship like?

At Croswell Free Methodist Church, our worship follows a more traditional and liturgical rhythm, blending the beauty of historic faith with the life of the present moment. Our services include Scripture-centered liturgy, timeless hymns, contemporary worship choruses, biblical preaching, and weekly celebration of Holy Communion. We believe that drawing from the ancient practices of the Church helps keep our faith both rooted and vibrant—grounding us in God’s truth while equipping us to live faithfully in today’s world. What should I wear to services?

Come as you are! At Croswell Free Methodist Church, we want you to feel truly welcome and at ease when you join us for worship. There’s no dress code—many people come in casual clothes, while others prefer to dress up a bit. What matters most to us is not what you wear, but that you come ready to encounter God and connect with His people. Whether you’re in jeans and a t-shirt or your Sunday best, you’ll find a warm and friendly community ready to worship alongside you

What are the church's core beliefs?

Croswell Free Methodist Church is part of the Free Methodist Church USA, a movement within the broader Wesleyan tradition. Rooted in the teachings of John Wesley, we emphasize the transforming grace of God that leads to holiness of heart and life. As Free Methodists, we hold to historic Christian faith, freedom in the Holy Spirit, and a deep commitment to love, justice, and spiritual renewal—seeking to live out a faith that is both deeply personal and actively engaged in the world. Our Worship Service

Worship

Throughout our service we sing songs of worship about and to Jesus. Music enable all of us to come together around the truth of the Gospel and to prepare our hearts to hear the Word.

Word

Between the various readings from Scripture, and the sermon, we know that God’s Word transforms and renews our minds to be His ambassadors in the world.

Sacrament

The high point of our service is coming to the table to receive Communion. We believe that as we partake in faith, we are strengthened and enabled to live in the holiness we are called to.

Worship with us!

At Croswell FMC we practice a traditional liturgical style of worship. Each week we follow the order of service from our service book (adapted from the 2019 Book of Common Prayer).

Our liturgy every Sunday is about Jesus – we sing about Jesus, we read about Jesus in Holy Scripture (we have an Old Testament reading, a psalm, a New Testament reading, and a Gospel reading every Sunday), and we preach Jesus – He is the Word we need. And climactically, every Sunday, we receive the Word in the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

“Christians don’t go to church to be entertained… They go to use the service, or, if you prefer, to enact it… [liturgy] works best – when, through long familiarity, we don’t have to think about it… The perfect church service would be one we were almost unaware of; our attention would have been on God… thinking about worship is a different thing from worshipping.”

C. S. Lewis, Letters to Malcolm Chiefly on Prayer
